6 Essential Steps in Spiritual Warfare:
A Practical Warfare Guide
Spiritual warfare can often feel overwhelming, but God has provided us with clear steps and divine authority to overcome every challenge.
Use these foundational steps to align your mind, heart, and spirit with God's truth and walk in full victory.
Step 1: Establish That You Are Not Alone
God the Father is with you continuously.
Jesus Christ stands with you in power.
The Holy Spirit guides and protects you from within.
Joshua 1:5
“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Step 2: Bind the Enemy
Including all his works, & his associates
Matthew 16:19
And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Step 3: Take the Armor in Which He Trusts
Luke 11:22
“But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.”
Step 4: Cast Him Out of Your Gates
Mark 16:17
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;”
Step 5: Possess the Gates
Stand in authority with the absolute assurance that we possess the gates of our enemies.
Genesis 22:17
“blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of [the heaven] and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.”
Step 6: Take the Spoils of the Battle
Reclaim everything the enemy has stolen and walk in full victory.
2 Chronicles 20:25
“When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.”
Additional Key Foundations for Spiritual Protection
Repentance and Forgiveness: Maintain a clean heart through daily repentance and willing forgiveness toward others.
Close Open Doors: Establish confidence and peace by ensuring there are no open doors from unintended agreement with the enemy.
Exercise Spiritual Authority: Take authority over your gates and cover them in prayer and the blood of Jesus.
Forbid Curses: Declare God's protection and explicitly forbid any curse to alight upon your gates.
Receive God’s blessing: Declare Deuteronomy 28 blessings over your life every single day. If you are forbidding the curse, you need to accommodate the blessing of God so that there’s no void for the enemy to exploit.
Conclusion & Next Steps
By walking through these steps daily and standing firm on God's promises, you can live in freedom the Lord desires for you.
Remember that victory is already yours through Christ—keep standing strong!
